The President of the United States (POTUS) Donald Trump recently penned a statement on social media about the tragic Hudson River helicopter crash. On April 11, 2025, the POTUS took to Truth Social to reiterate the details surrounding the tragedy, and offer a few words for the people whose lives were lost and their affected loved ones.

“Terrible helicopter crash in the Hudson River. Looks like six people, the pilot, two adults, and three children, are no longer with us,” wrote Trump.

He continued, “The footage of the accident is horrendous. God bless the families and friends of the victims. Secretary of Transportation, Sean Duffy, and his talented staff are on it. Announcements as to exactly what took place, and how, will be made shortly!”

The tragic helicopter crash in New York has claimed the lives of six people, including three children and three adults, according to city authorities. The aircraft went down in the Hudson River, which separates Manhattan from nearby New Jersey, leaving behind a devastating scene that drew swift response from emergency teams.

Among the deceased are the helicopter pilot and a family visiting from Spain. Images from the scene show the wreckage of the helicopter floating upside down in the water, underscoring the severity of the crash.

A video clip shared on social media paints a harrowing picture, as it shows the exact moment when the helicopter crash landed into the river.

The cause of the crash remains under investigation, with both marine and land response units attending the scene of the accident. More details on the story will follow shortly.

Pilot warned he ‘needed fuel’ in radio call before helicopter crashed into Hudson River killing six people https://echowoven.com/pilot-warned-he-needed-fuel-in-radio-call-before-helicopter-crashed-into-hudson-river-killing-six-people/ https://echowoven.com/pilot-warned-he-needed-fuel-in-radio-call-before-helicopter-crashed-into-hudson-river-killing-six-people/#respond Tue, 16 Sep 2025 04:08:19 +0000 https://echowoven.com/?p=28424 The pilot of the helicopter that crashed into the Hudson River and killed six people reportedly told the base that the chopper needed to refuel.

At around 3.15pm ET on Thursday (April 10), a helicopter plummeted into the New York river, close to Jersey City, killing a family of tourists and the pilot.

Tragically, all six of those on board have been pulled from the waters and confirmed as dead, including a family of five, made up of parents Agustín Escobar and Merce Camprubi Montal and their three young children and the pilot.

It is understood that the Spanish family was traveling on a sightseeing trip.

Emergency services were called to the crash less than 20 minutes after the aircraft set off from a downtown Manhattan Skyport at around 3pm.

The owner of the chopper, Michael Roth, 71, told The Telegraph that the pilot, who is yet to be identified, had radioed the base to say the group were returning to the helipad but never made it.

Agustín Escobar and his family died in the crash (New York Helicopter Tours LLC)

“He [the pilot] called in that he was landing and that he needed fuel, and it should have taken him about three minutes to arrive, but 20 minutes later, he didn’t arrive,” he said.

Roth owns the company New York Helicopter which provides sky tours of the city.

“We’re all devastated. Every employee in our company is devastated. My wife has not stopped crying,” he continued. “I got a call from my manager and my downtown heliport and she said she heard there was a crash, and then my phone blew up from everybody.

“Then one of my pilots flew over the Hudson and saw the helicopter upside down.

“The death of the child of any human being, is a monumental disaster.”

He also told the Wall Street Journal he had ‘no clue’ how the tragedy happened.

“The only thing I know by watching a video of the helicopter falling down, that the main rotor blades weren’t on the helicopter,” Roth said.

He added that he had not seen such a thing happen during his three decades in the business, but noted: “These are machines, and they break.”

NYPD commissioner Jessica Tisch said in a news briefing that the aircraft ‘lost control and hit the water’.

The Bell 206L-4 LongRanger IV helicopter, registered with the Federal Aviation Administration as N216MH, made nine other short journeys from Lower Manhattan on Thursday, according to FlightAware, reports the BBC.

Shocking video footage shared on social media appears to show the tail and rotors of the helicopter had become detached before falling towards the water.

An eyewitness also explained how they heard the tragedy unfold before seeing the aftermath to ABC News.

“It sounded like a sonic boom so I look up and literally I saw helicopter splitting in 2, with the rotor flying off in the sky it was going so fast and it just went straight into the water,” they said. “I’ve never seen anything like that in my life.”

Harrowing video shows the split apart helicopter falling upside down into the water.

It is believed the helicopter flew over Governor’s Island and near the Statue of Liberty and travelled up the Hudson River on the New York side before turning around near the George Washington Bridge and flying along the Jersey City stretch of the river.

Officials are still pulling the wreckage from the waters in Manhattan while an investigation is underway to determine what happened.

Assigned to deliver groceries to an elderly man on behalf of his daughter, she noticed the order had been pending for some time. Determined to assist, she accepted the task, unaware of the role she was about to play.

Upon arriving at the customer’s house, Jessica was met by the elderly man, who appeared unwell. Despite Instacart’s policy advising against entering customers’ homes, her concern for his well-being urged her to carry the groceries inside. Once inside, she sensed a strong odor and experienced dizziness, leading her to suspect a leak.

Acting on her instincts, she contacted the man’s daughter through the Instacart app, expressing her concerns about the potential gas leak. The daughter responded by sending her son to check. Their investigation confirmed a leak in the home, which, if left unaddressed, could have resulted in a fatal outcome. Grateful for her intervention, the daughter increased her tip from $14 to $100 and credited her with saving their lives.

A Thai restaurant sparked outrage online for offering discounts based on how “skinny” customers were https://echowoven.com/a-thai-restaurant-sparked-outrage-online-for-offering-discounts-based-on-how-skinny-customers-were/ https://echowoven.com/a-thai-restaurant-sparked-outrage-online-for-offering-discounts-based-on-how-skinny-customers-were/#respond Sun, 14 Sep 2025 07:20:29 +0000 https://echowoven.com/?p=28277 A restaurant in Chiang Mai, Thailand, is facing significant backlash after a video went viral showcasing its peculiar discount system — based on how “skinny” a customer is.

The establishment, Chiang Mai Breakfast World, offered discounts of up to 20% to customers based on their ability to pass through increasingly narrow vertical metal bars, Thaiger reported.

The promotion drew widespread criticism online after British travel bloggers highlighted it in an Instagram video on April 6. The video swiftly went viral, attracting more than 58,000 likes and over 2,000 comments, The Straits Times reported.

The discount challenge that went viral

The setup includes five differently sized sets of metal bars. Customers who can pass through the narrowest bars receive a 20% discount, followed by 15%, 10%, and 5% for progressively wider gaps. Those unable to pass through any set of bars are greeted by a final sign: “Full price, sorry.”

A screenshot from an Instagram video by amonthego15 shows a woman tries to squeeze through metal bars labeled with discount rates at a restaurant in Thailand.
Social media reacts

The restaurant’s unusual marketing tactic triggered a heated online debate.

A few found it light-hearted, with one commenter saying, “It’s just a joke, take it easy!” Yet others questioned the ethics behind such marketing, noting, “Imagine the embarrassment some people might feel just trying to eat breakfast.”

Another added, “So if I don’t fit, I have to pay more? That’s insulting.”

People Are Just Realizing Why Women’s Underwear Have A Bow On Front https://echowoven.com/people-are-just-realizing-why-womens-underwear-have-a-bow-on-front/ https://echowoven.com/people-are-just-realizing-why-womens-underwear-have-a-bow-on-front/#respond Sun, 14 Sep 2025 07:08:31 +0000 https://echowoven.com/?p=28251 Underpants. You wear them almost every day of your life, but you probably don’t give them or their peculiarities a lot of thought.

For example, in 2021, we saw that some of you were unaware of the purpose of the holes in front of boxer shorts.

We’ve since learned that some individuals find women’s underwear mysterious, especially the tiny bow that occasionally adorns it.

For illustrative purposes only

Although the bow is undoubtedly ornamental, there is a story that has circulated on the Internet over the years suggesting that this wasn’t always the case.

“Now? Because it’s cute, it’s feminine, it evokes innocence, and it makes it really easy to tell which side is the front when dressing hastily in the dark,” one Redditor said in answer to a question on where the tradition began.

“What about the tradition’s origins? It dates back to the time when elastic bands were used, when your pants were fastened with a ribbon that was inserted through the eyelet lace on top. You knotted the ribbon in the little bow, which is conveniently located in the front where it’s most convenient to execute such an operation.”

For illustrative purposes only

Although the idea is tenable—people preferred wearing underwear before elastic was created in 1820 and became widely used in apparel in the 1900s—there isn’t much proof shown to support the assertion.

In the medieval centuries, men undoubtedly wore loose drawers, or “braies,” that were fastened with a drawstring or a belt.

But we no longer tie a belt around our underwear to honor the tradition, nor do men’s underwear still feature bows.

For illustrative purposes only

What women in Europe wore prior to the fifteenth century is a subject of some debate. It is a lot to expect of an underpant that writing, art, and textiles that have been sufficiently conserved to endure to this day provide the majority of our evidence.

After then, women wore corsets occasionally along with petticoats and nightie-like clothing underneath their attire, known as chemises.

Historian Tim Lambert of Local Histories claims that they also wore drawers in the 1800s. At first, they were simple, but as the century went on, they became increasingly ornate, covered in bands and lace.

For illustrative purposes only

Women, girls, and young boys all wore pants, which first appeared in France in the 19th century. We refer to these baggy, long pants—which are actually just one item—as a “pair of underpants” since they were split in half and fastened together with a drawstring.

It’s possible that when elastic gained traction, these drawstring bows were retained as a decorative element, but the adornment was eliminated from men’s underwear.

Conversely, it’s possible that underwear producers just found it to be a charming, ornamental touch, unrelated to historical customs. Who doesn’t appreciate a bow, after all?

Mom’s Huge Baby Bump Has People Guessing She’s Having Eight Babies https://echowoven.com/moms-huge-baby-bump-has-people-guessing-shes-having-eight-babies/ https://echowoven.com/moms-huge-baby-bump-has-people-guessing-shes-having-eight-babies/#respond Sun, 14 Sep 2025 07:05:53 +0000 https://echowoven.com/?p=28243 It’s not every day that you come across a baby bump so huge that it leaves people questioning the possibility of not just one, two, or three babies, but an astonishing eight. The remarkable case of Renae W has attracted attention and sparked intense speculation, with many wondering about such a phenomenon.

People thought she might be having eight kids.

She mentions that her stomach became so sizeable that some individuals even speculated she might have been carrying a brood of eight babies.

The widely circulated video has left numerous individuals amazed by the remarkable dimensions of the belly, as one commenter expressed, “I swear you have like 4 twins in there.” Another observer was utterly convinced, stating, “There’s a full-grown adult in there.”

A few users couldn’t resist making light-hearted jests, such as this person who quipped, “Kid’s building a house in there.” A second individual chimed in with agreement, jesting, “He gonna come out driving and Honda Civic.”

An alleged healthcare provider expressed concern.

A follower of hers playfully suggested that she might have a fully grown person residing within her, yet the situation took a less amusing turn when an alleged medical professional claimed she should be worried.

© mommy1987003 / Tiktok

Renae offered her response, stating, “As a doctor, you should be ashamed of yourself for this video, especially when I’m not your patient. Saying a belly shouldn’t be that big when me and my baby are healthy.”

She notes that the general response to her substantial bump is usually supportive, and she welcomes the lighthearted comments people share. “Bro gonna come out with a college degree,” quipped one person. Another humorously remarked, “You got a whole NFL player in there.”

She doesn’t suffer from any medical conditions.

In a previous video, she addressed the concerns of viewers who were worried about her well-being.

She explained, “I’ve stated in several of my videos I don’t have polyhydramnios or extra fluid or gestational diabetes. I had an ultrasound not that long ago; fluid is normal, the baby is measuring a week and 4 days ahead. I have a high-risk doctor.”

She also noted that her shorter frame made her baby bump seem larger than it really was.

She said she’ll miss her belly bump.

On February 18, she delivered her son via C-section, with the newborn tipping the scales at 9 pounds 8 ounces. She mentions that he measured 22-and-a-half inches in height.

The video of her proudly displaying her continuously growing abdomen just prior to giving birth garnered over five million views on her channel. Despite appearing notably uncomfortable, she admits she’ll feel a sense of nostalgia for the bump after the arrival of her cherished “rainbow baby.”

People noticed that she doesn’t have stretchmarks.

However, the mother who gave birth in January of this year has nearly returned to her usual size. Surprisingly, given the significant size of her bump, she has managed to avoid stretch marks.

She unveiled her postpartum body in another TikTok video, leaving viewers amazed by the absence of stretch marks. One individual remarked, “No stretchmarks?!!!”

“Five kids and no stretch marks, blessed,” commented another user.

Responding to the video, another individual wrote, “Our bodies are freaking AMAZING!! Your skin looks so good mama!”

Doctor issues urgent v@pe warning after 17-year-old develops irreversible ‘popcorn lung’ from popular habit https://echowoven.com/doctor-issues-urgent-vpe-warning-after-17-year-old-develops-irreversible-popcorn-lung-from-popular-habit/ https://echowoven.com/doctor-issues-urgent-vpe-warning-after-17-year-old-develops-irreversible-popcorn-lung-from-popular-habit/#respond Sun, 14 Sep 2025 06:55:25 +0000 https://echowoven.com/?p=28226 A mom has recalled a difficult conversation she had with a doctor after her teenage daughter fell unwell with ‘popcorn lung’.

Christie Martin received a panicked call from her daughter Brianne Cullen who claimed she was struggling to breathe.

Horrified, Christie rushed the 17-year-old to a nearby ER where she was given oxygen, X-rays and medication before being diagnosed with bronchiolitis obliterans — a health condition better known as ‘popcorn lung’.

It’s an uncommon type of lung disease caused by a build-up of scar tissue in the lungs, which blocks the flow of air.

Brainne was rushed to the ER when she started having breathing difficulties (Kennedy News and Media)

Little did Christie know that Brianne had started secretly v@ping at the age of 14.

Recounting the day her daughter started to feel sick, Christie, from Henderson, Nevada, US, said: “[Brianne] went to cheer sick, she had a cough and a sore throat. She was lifting up these kids, tumbling, it’s all very straining.

“She called me all of a sudden and said she can’t catch her breath.

“I couldn’t understand her, she kept saying ‘I can’t breathe’, it was the scariest thing.”

The mom went on to credit the sport for saving Brianne’s life.

“Cheer saved her life because the exertion that you put out during cheer practice on top of being sick, she couldn’t breathe,” Christie said.

“The doctor came in and said, we need to have a very serious conversation,” the mom went on to recall of their hospital dash.

“I didn’t expect the news she gave me, that it was popcorn lungs that’s permanent and children are dying from it. […] We still don’t know if there will be long term effects.”

Brianne, who puffed on a $25 v@pe she bought each month for three years, was given an inhaler by doctors at St. Rose Dominican Hospital to help her breathing.

Christie had been left fearing the worst for her daughter’s health (Kennedy News and Media)

Christie said: “We don’t know the status of her lungs now, I was an absolute mess at the ER that night.

“They told me she should be able to make a full recovery because we caught it so early, but it can also cause problems like cancer in the future. I thought I failed as a mother.

“Sm0king takes years to show its effect and your lungs can heal from it, but popcorn lung is irreversible.”

“It took a deadly diagnosis for her to stop,” the worried mother added.

Now Christie is urging other parents to rally together to stop young people from accessing v@pes and e-cig@rettes.

“We need to work together to take these things off the market,” she said.

“This is meant to be a cautionary tale to not let your kids v@pe no matter what. I hope to God they ban them, it’s worse than sm0king.”

9-Year-Old Child L0st His Life On His Way To School – What Happened? https://echowoven.com/9-year-old-child-l0st-his-life-on-his-way-to-school-what-happened/ https://echowoven.com/9-year-old-child-l0st-his-life-on-his-way-to-school-what-happened/#respond Sat, 13 Sep 2025 14:49:46 +0000 https://echowoven.com/?p=28181 A 9-year-old child lost his life after being pulled into floodwaters on his way to catch his school bus, raising safety concerns across his Kentucky community.

On Friday morning, April 4, 2025, Gabriel Andrews and his older sister were walking to their regular pickup spot in the Hickory Hills area of Frankfort when he slipped and was swept away by fast-moving water.

Gabriel Andrews | Source: Facebook/michelle.c.howard.106

The incident was reported at 6:35 a.m., and a large-scale emergency response was launched. Search crews located Gabriel’s body around 8:47 a.m., approximately half a mile from where he was last seen. The Franklin County Coroner’s Office confirmed his death at 9:16 a.m.

Gabriel had just turned nine on April 1, just three days before the tragedy. He lived with his mother, Racheal Tibbs Andrews, who is widowed. Residents of the area explained that children in Gabriel’s apartment complex must cross a drainage channel to reach their bus stop. On that particular morning, the area was flooded.

The news of his death brought shock and sorrow to the school and local community. Gabriel’s teacher, Kasey Swails, posted, “The sweetest Bindi Boy 💚 we love you always Gabe.” Another message from teacher Hannah Clark read, “Long live this sweet boy 🩵 prayers for his family!”

In a separate message, Kasey shared what Gabriel meant to her class. “My favorite part of being a teacher is who I share my classroom with. Something I pride myself on is the community I build within my four walls. By May, we are more than just a class, we are a classroom family,” she wrote.

She continued, “Today, an important part of that classroom family was taken from us. The sweetest, kindest boy who was impossible not to love. Who loved basketball and anything to do with a police car, who tried his best at any task given to him. Who was a friend to all.[..] Today has been the most heartbreaking day in my teaching career.”

Franklin County Schools confirmed that Gabriel was one of their students. “We are deeply saddened at this horrific tragedy that claimed the life of one of our students,” the district said in a statement. “We are eternally grateful for our community first responders[…] who selflessly responded to assist in this situation.”

Frankfort Assistant Chief of Police Scott Tracy held a briefing later that day, joined by officials including Frankfort Mayor Layne Wilkerson and Franklin County Judge Michael Mueller. The Assistant Chief of Police stated, “Our hearts are with our entire community during this time.”

Mayor Wilkerson added, “A tragedy such as this is felt by our entire community and we all grieve together.” Judge Mueller also offered condolences and thanked emergency personnel. “We offer our thoughts and prayers as they go through this time,” he said.

The incident occurred as rounds of heavy rain moved through the region. Several parts of the Midwest and South were under warnings for torrential rains and flash floods. Satellite imagery showed storm activity across Kentucky, Arkansas, and Tennessee.

In the days leading up to April 4, tornadoes in the region had already destroyed neighborhoods and claimed lives. Kentucky Governor Andy Beshear warned residents about the dangers of rising water.

Following the incident, the district’s decision to continue classes despite the weather came under scrutiny. Caitlin Green, the mother of one of Gabriel’s classmates, questioned the move. “The rain was coming down hard. They had already called off certain bus routes in the area due to flooded roadways,” she told a CNN affiliate.

On the morning of April 4, Franklin County Schools announced the cancellation of two bus routes — Bus 59 and Bus 11 — serving areas including Peaksmill, Switzer, Hamilton Camp Pleasant, Snavely Road, and Lucas Lane.

The district noted that any students affected by the transportation changes would have excused absences. However, schools remained open for the day. Later that afternoon, the district responded to rumors circulating on social media, clarifying through School Safety Coordinator Captain Abrams.

“We are hearing rumors that some social media posts are falsely reporting that some FCS Schools are in lockdown. This is False. All schools are operating normally and there are no lockdowns in the district,” the post read.

The community continues to mourn the loss of Gabriel Andrews — a young boy remembered by those who knew him as kind, joyful, and full of promise.

Heartbreaking story of dog taken from the streets and sent on a one-way trip into space https://echowoven.com/heartbreaking-story-of-dog-taken-from-the-streets-and-sent-on-a-one-way-trip-into-space/ https://echowoven.com/heartbreaking-story-of-dog-taken-from-the-streets-and-sent-on-a-one-way-trip-into-space/#respond Sat, 13 Sep 2025 14:46:40 +0000 https://echowoven.com/?p=28174 It’s almost been seventy years since Laika the space dog was sent to orbit the Earth on a tragically designed one-way trip.

A friendly stray captured on the streets of Russia, Laika was thought to be around three-years-old when scientists declared her the perfect test animal for their space-based plans.

The idea was that the terrier mix – whose original name was Kudryavka – would be launched into the atmosphere to help inform whether humans would survive an exploration attempt.

The young pooch was praised for her nice nature and was forced to embark on weeks of space training – this included getting her used to sitting in small crates, cages and living in tiny confined spaces.

Eventually, experts deemed Laika ready for her maiden voyage into space, strapping her into Russia’s Sputnik 2 container on November 3, 1957.

The friendly terrier-mix was just three-years-old and living on the streets of Russia (Getty Images)

Speaking about the canine’s final moments on Earth, Engineer Yevgeniy Shabarov said: “After placing Laika in the container and before closing the hatch, we kissed her nose and wished her bon voyage, knowing that she would not survive the flight.”

After hours of being inside the holding container, the dog was lifted to the top of the rocket around an hour before midnight as it blasted off.

It’s understood the tiny animal’s pulse rate tripled during takeoff and only began to come down during weightlessness. She also suffered stress and was reportedly agitated during the flight.

Laika, who is immortalised in the history books as the first-ever animal to orbit space, was sent up to show whether or not a living organism could survive the dramatic impact of being launched into orbit.

Unfortunately, Laika only survived for the first five to seven hours of the mission.

Laika is thought to have died just five hours into the experiment (Keystone/Getty Images)

On April 14, 1968, Laika’s remains re-entered the Earth’s atmosphere where they disintegrated after 162 days in orbit.

The Soviet Union gave conflicting causes of death for years, claiming everything from suffocation to a failure of the central R‑7 sustainer to separate from the payload.

But in October 2002, one of the specialists who worked on sending her up in space confirmed the real cause of her death.

Dimitri Malashenkov confirmed that Laika had died from overheating and panic by the flight’s fourth orbit.

“It turned out that it was practically impossible to create a reliable temperature control system in such limited time constraints,” Malashenkov explained in a paper presented to the World Space Congress.

Despite Laika not surviving the journey, the mission was considered a win for the Soviet Union (Universal History Archive/Universal Images Group via Getty Images)

Tragically, scientists knew Laika would have died either way around 10 days in due to lack of oxygen.

Despite the dog dying so quickly in the experiment, Sputnik 2 was classed as a win for the Soviet Union.

After sending Laika into space, the Soviet Union proceeded to send dogs Belka and Strelka in August 1960, who are remembered as the first animals to return to Earth alive.

Since then, everything from pig-tailed monkeys to tortoises, cats and even worms have been to space in the name of knowledge advancement.
