I’m 65 and never had children of my own, but I raised my stepson from the time he was 8 years old. I also have a nephew I rarely see, and I had planned to leave him my inheritance.
My inheritance mainly consists of a beautiful four-bedroom family home that once belonged to my grandparents. I’ve always wanted that house to stay within my own family’s bloodline.

When my stepson found out about my decision, he exploded in anger. “I considered you my mom! This is how you treat me?” he shouted. I replied, “Sorry, blood comes first!”
But then I froze when he looked me straight in the eye and said that, from now on, I was no longer welcome in his family’s life. “You will stay away from my family since we’re not your blood!” he said coldly.
His words cut deeply. I adore his two little children, aged 2 and 4. They’ve always felt like the grandchildren I never had. Losing them feels unbearable. Still, I stayed silent. I had made my choice, and I wasn’t going to change it.
A few days later, however, my world turned upside down again. My nephew came to visit and casually told me he planned to sell the house as soon as he inherited it. He said he needed the money to invest in a new business venture.

I was horrified. The entire reason I wanted to leave the house to him was to keep it in the family—to preserve our legacy. But now he wants to get rid of it for cash.
Meanwhile, my stepson refuses to speak to me or answer my calls. Even worse, my husband has taken his side, saying I was “unfair” to his son.
Now my whole life feels like it’s fallen apart. I don’t know what to do anymore.
