    Ingredient Quantity
    Canned Salmon 1 (14 3/4 ounce) can
    Onion, finely chopped 1/4 cup
    Cornmeal 1/4 cup
    Flour 1/4 cup
    Egg 1
    Mayonnaise 3 tablespoons

    Instructions:

    1. Open and Drain Salmon: Open the canned salmon and drain it thoroughly. Place the drained salmon in a mixing bowl.
    2. Flake Salmon: Using a fork, flake the salmon evenly in the mixing bowl. This ensures a consistent texture for your patties.
    3. Add Ingredients: To the flaked salmon, add finely chopped onion, cornmeal, flour, mayonnaise, and the egg.
    4. Stir Until Well Blended: Stir the mixture until all ingredients are well blended. This creates a cohesive mixture for shaping the patties.
    5. Shape Patties: Shape the mixture into patties, each about the size of an average burger or less. Ensure they are evenly shaped for uniform cooking.
    6. Cook in Oil: In a skillet, heat oil over medium heat. Cook the patties until they are golden brown on each side. Remember to turn them once during frying for even cooking.
