You don’t really need iron to remove wrinkles from clothes. In fact, there are lots of clothing care hacks that require far less effort and time. Keep reading for easy ways to de-wrinkle your clothes without an iron below.
If you’re in a rush and realize your shirt is wrinkled, don’t panic. Instead, lay it out on a flat surface and run your hairdryer one to two inches over the front and back wrinkled clothing article. The wrinkles will disappear right before your eyes!
Note: Turn on the hairdryer and focus the heat on the sections of the garment that are most wrinkled. You can also hand smooth if needed. Just make sure that you don’t hold the dryer too close to your clothing and risk burning the fabric.
This trick is particularly useful when you travel. If you’re planning on wearing something that has wrinkled in your suitcase, hang it up in the bathroom while you shower with all of the doors and windows sealed. When you get out, the wrinkles will have softened completely. Remember to hang the clothing item as close as possible to the steam, like on the showerhead or shower rod.
Keep in mind that this isn’t the most environmentally friendly method of steaming out your clothing, so try not to keep the hot water running for too long. And don’t forget to shut the door and windows.
On a flat surface, place a damp towel over the wrinkled clothing and press down to smooth out deep creases. Then, hang to air dry.
Skip the professional wrinkle sprays. White vinegar is a cheap, gentle, and chemical-free alternative to remove creases. Mist your garment with 1 part vinegar and 3 parts water. Then, just let it air dry.
If you don’t have a steamer on hand, boil water in a tea kettle. Then, when water is boiling boil just hold your clothing item about a foot away from the steam.
Boil water in a regular metal pot you’d use for cooking. When the water boils, spill it out. The bottom should be hot enough to use to iron out all of the wrinkles in your garment.
If your clothing item is dryer safe, spritz it with water and throw it in the dryer with another damp item (like a sock) or two. You can also throw in one or two ice cubes. When they melt, they give off a steam effect. Spin for about 15 minutes, and most of the creases should be gone.
If you have a straightener on hand, this can be a good tool to get out stubborn wrinkles. It’s particularly useful for hard-to-iron areas like your shirt collar. Just make sure the straightener is free of any loose hairs or products, and that you’re mindful of the heat setting so as not to damage your clothes.

You don’t really need iron to remove wrinkles from clothes.
