At 12:03, it\u2019s already past midnight. Closest time \u2018from\u2019 midnight would be 12:03 AM,\u201d someone commented. \u201c12:03 is only 3 minutes away from midnight, making it the closest of the given times. I\u2019ve never heard anyone use the phrase \u201cclose to\u201d to mean anything other than this interpretation,\u201d another used added.\n
