It just depends on who you speak to after the question is popped. Movies have made love into a grandiose affair, and some people now expect a big fancy proposal gesture. Well, one woman had exactly that, but not in the way she expected. Her boyfriend gave her a necklace that she wore every day for an entire year without her knowing it contained an engagement ring.\n</p><h3>A Hidden Engagement Ring\n</h3><p>Anna and Terry were only dating for one year when Terry decided to make her a gift that would never leave Anna\u2019s side. He took a small block of wood and carved it into an oval shape that held a spiral shell on its surface. He gave it to her on their first anniversary, and Anna loved it. For the next year, she would wear it wherever she went, never taking it off. Unbeknownst to her, an engagement ring was hidden inside. \u201cShe wore it every day and everywhere we went, and pretty much never took it off,\u201d said Terry. \u201cThere were some occasions where I was really worried.\u201d\n</p><h3>He made her a necklace for their first anniversary\n<figure style='\"width:' class='\"wp-caption' aligncenter><img loading='\"lazy\"' decoding='\"async\"' src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/secretlifeofmom.com%5C/wp-content%5C/uploads%5C/2023%5C/03%5C/image-45.png%5C%22" alt='\"He' made her a necklace for their first anniversary width='\"992\"' height='\"558\"' title='\"\"'><figcaption class='\"wp-caption-text\"'>Image credit: YouTube\/Smudha\n<p>Terry described two occasions where his plan caused some serious stress. One time, they were at a market, and Terry had to keep a watchful eye on the dealings between Anna and a blacksmith. \u201cAt one point,\u201d said Terry. \u201cI thought she was going to trade it with a blacksmith at a market \u2013 the blacksmith loved the necklace, and she loved the blacksmith\u2019s work \u2013 but luckily I didn\u2019t need to crash tackle her.\u201d\n</p><p>Another heart-pounding incident was when they went through an airport security check. \u201cMy biggest moment of panic was when we went through airport security the first time. I hadn\u2019t thought about the fact that she might be asked to put it through the x-ray. One of the places at the top of their bucket list is Scotland. In particular, they want to see an old cave along the coastline called Smoo. More than a year after Terry gave Anna the necklace, they decided to pay this cave a visit.\n</p><p>It is unclear whether Terry intended to finally propose there, but he clearly felt the time was right. He asked if he could take a look at Anna\u2019s necklace, which she unknowingly obliged. \u201cBefore we actually went down to the cave, I asked if I could have the necklace to take some photos of it among the rocks, which gave me a quick chance to break the seal with a knife,\u201d he said.\n</p><h3>The Revealed Engagement Ring\n</h3><p>Terry decided to record the proposal, so he set his camera up on a tripod while Anna waited at the cave\u2019s opening. The necklace was hidden in his pocket as he walked over to stand with Anna. They posed for a few pictures before terry stood back and looked at Anna. For those that don\u2019t know, Smoo happens to mean \u201chiding place\u201c. But, you can see Terry kneeling down on one knee. Anna stood for a few seconds before jumping up in excitement, throwing her arms around him, and sitting down on his bent leg. It was clear that she said yes. \u201cShe stood there dazed for a second, trying to work out what was going on. Then it dawned and she said \u2018yes\u2019 with all the excitement in the world.\n</p><p>After Anna managed to calm herself enough to process what had just happened, or rather, what had been happening for more than a year, she said: \u201cWait\u2026 It\u2019s been in there the entire time?!!
