An Alabaman went to see a psychiatrist because of his drinking problem.\u00a0 He sat down on the couch in his office, and the psychiatrist asked him, \u201cSo, can you tell me the reason why you\u2019re drinking?\u201d\n

The patient took a deep breath and said, \u201cSure, I know exactly why I\u2019m drinking, and I\u2019ll tell you right now.\u00a0 It all started when I got married, and I guess I should never have done it.\u00a0 I met and married a widow with a grown daughter who then became my stepdaughter.\u201d\n

The man went on, \u201cOne day, my dad came to visit us.\u00a0 He promptly fell in love with my lovely stepdaughter and eventually married her. And so my stepdaughter was now my stepmother.\u00a0 Soon, me and my wife had a son who was, of course, my dad\u2019s brother-in-law since he is the half-brother of my stepdaughter, who is now, of course, my dad\u2019s wife.\n

So, as I told you, when my stepdaughter married my dad, she was also my stepmother!\u00a0 Now, since my new son is brother to my stepmother, he also became my uncle.\u00a0 As you know, my wife is my step-grandmother since she is my stepmother\u2019s mother.\u00a0 Don\u2019t forget that my stepmother is my stepdaughter.\n
