She went under the nickname \u201cuglywoman\u201d, which already gave people a\u00a0hint that she\u2019s very much concerned about her looks. She began her story, saying that she considers herself an\u00a0unattractive woman. She admitted that she\u2019s always been this way, and she has already accustomed herself to\u00a0this belief about her appearance. She confessed that she\u2019s had a\u00a0tough life because of\u00a0her insecurities, and it\u00a0has never been easy for her to\u00a0live a\u00a0normal and full life.\n
The woman met her husband four years ago. She is\u00a0obviously in\u00a0love\u00a0with this man, as\u00a0she speaks of\u00a0him as\u00a0\u201cthe best thing that\u2019s ever happened to\u00a0me.\u201d She wrote that her husband has always and frequently told her she\u2019s beautiful, and somehow sounded honest, without sounding like the woman\u2019s own mom. There was an\u00a0ordinary Saturday, and her husband decided to\u00a0invite a\u00a0group of\u00a0friends over to\u00a0their home. The man went on\u00a0for a\u00a0while, \u201cdefending\u201d his wife. But all she could hear was \u201cI\u00a0know she\u2019s ugly, I\u00a0know she\u2019s ugly, I\u00a0know she\u2019s ugly\u201d again and again in\u00a0her head. It\u00a0just broke her. The woman writes, \u201cI\u2019ve always known I\u2019m unattractive, but\u00a0HE\u00a0isn\u2019t supposed, too! He\u00a0tells me\u00a0I\u2019m beautiful so\u00a0sincerely, and consistently, I\u2019d started to\u00a0actually believe he\u00a0thought that.\u201d\n
\u201cI\u00a0started to\u00a0cry and ran into a\u00a0shower so\u00a0no\u00a0one could hear\u00a0me. When I\u00a0came out and hour later everyone had gone home, far earlier than normal. I\u00a0went to\u00a0bed and then haven\u2019t spoken to\u00a0him all day today, but\u00a0I think I\u2019ve been able to\u00a0avoid letting him know I\u2019m upset, or\u00a0avoiding him,\u201d she shared.\n\n

Seriously. I\u00a0know hearing this must have hurt, but a\u00a0lot of\u00a0women would kill for a\u00a0guy that stood up\u00a0for them like this. It\u00a0actually sounds like your husband puts the correct amount of\u00a0emphasis on\u00a0looks, and you are focusing too much on\u00a0them. Just because your husband may objectively perceive that you are \u201cugly\u201d that does not mean he\u00a0is\u00a0not attracted to\u00a0you. Your husband shouldn\u2019t have said what he\u00a0said, but it\u00a0sounds to\u00a0me\u00a0like he\u00a0didn\u2019t really mean it\u00a0that way. It\u00a0sounds like he\u00a0doesn\u2019t think you are ugly, he\u00a0just knows that, objectively, you are not conventionally good-looking. That does not mean you aren\u2019t attractive, sexy, and beautiful to\u00a0him. He\u2019s not a\u00a0liar. He\u2019s a\u00a0loving husband that truly thinks you are beautiful.
