Rebecca, a\u00a030-year-old woman, has recently shared her scandalous family story with\u00a0us. The woman complained about her younger sister, Anna, who\u2019s 20\u00a0years old and who\u2019s a\u00a0university student at\u00a0the moment.\n

The woman wrote, \u201cI\u00a0let my\u00a0sister Anna live with\u00a0us while she attends the university. In\u00a0return, we\u00a0agreed that she must pay\u00a0us $500\u00a0a month. The sum of\u00a0$500 covers her room, the utility bills, and her food. I\u00a0believe it\u2019s very fair. She also does some domestic chores and helps\u00a0us with our 2\u00a0kids. That was our initial agreement. We\u00a0even wrote everything down on\u00a0paper, so\u00a0there was no\u00a0further confusion.\u201d\n

Rebecca explained, \u201cMy understanding is that room and board at Anna\u2019s school is around $1,200 a month for shared accommodation. And it is only available during the 8 months of school. So living here costs her $6,000 a year as opposed to $9,600 for 8 months and then 4 months living with our mom and stepdad. This agreement worked well for two years. She is a perfect student and a good kid.\u201d\n\n

Rebecca goes on\u00a0with her story, saying, \u201cRecently, Anna and\u00a0I had a\u00a0huge conflict, where\u00a0I think she\u2019s totally in\u00a0a\u00a0wrong, but our parents judge me\u00a0hard for my\u00a0opinions. The thing is\u00a0that Anna now has a\u00a0boyfriend and their\u00a0relationship\u00a0is\u00a0quite serious.\n

Of course, Anna wants to go out more and to spend more time with her boyfriend, I can totally understand it. But together with this, my sister has started complaining about watching the kids every other Saturday night so my husband and I can have a date night. This provoked a huge misunderstanding between us.\u201d\n

Rebecca explained, \u201cAs\u00a0far as\u00a0we\u00a0have this agreement and her university studies aren\u2019t over yet, I\u00a0insisted that Anna must stick to\u00a0it. I\u00a0also suggested to\u00a0her that\u00a0I could find a\u00a0babysitter, but that would mean she\u2019ll be\u00a0responsible for paying them, since she was initially supposed to\u00a0watch the kids. Now Anna is\u00a0mad at\u00a0me, and she is\u00a0complaining that with her paying the babysitter, it\u00a0is\u00a0using up\u00a0all of\u00a0her income.\u201d\n\n

Rebecca is wrong to make Anna pay for a sitter. She said that their agreement was for Anna to “help them out” with their children, NOT give up her OWN life so that Rebecca and her hubby could have a date night twice a month. That’s a lot of nerve!\n

Why should SHE get a date night when those are HER children? Anna doesn’t have any children. If anything, they could each have a date night once a month, and take turns watching the children. After all, if anyone has to give up something, it should be Rebecca, since those are HER children. Glad that Anna is moving out, and taking her life back!\n\n\n\n\n

The woman wrote, \u201cAnna was mad at\u00a0me\u00a0because of\u00a0my\u00a0suggestion, and she obviously thought\u00a0I was using her. She fumed and said she would stay on\u00a0her university campus next year. I\u00a0said it\u00a0was no\u00a0problem for\u00a0me, and\u00a0I also told her that was a\u00a0really great idea. This way she would get her freedom and\u00a0I will get my\u00a0hobby room back.\u201d\n

Rebecca complained, \u201cI\u00a0faced a\u00a0wave of\u00a0criticism from all members of\u00a0my\u00a0family. My\u00a0parents called me\u00a0and said that my\u00a0sister wasn\u2019t my\u00a0unpaid nanny. They insisted that we\u00a0are sisters, and we\u00a0must help each other for free. My\u00a0mother said that\u00a0I must let Anna leave in\u00a0our house now for free, and\u00a0I shouldn\u2019t lay my\u00a0claims on\u00a0her finance.
\nI\u00a0told them that we\u00a0had an\u00a0agreement and that Anna was satisfied with everything, but they wouldn\u2019t listen. I\u00a0also informed my\u00a0parents that\u00a0I had already agreed that she could live on\u00a0campus next semester, and this was the moment when my\u00a0mom went furious and said she would cut ties with\u00a0me.\u201d\n

Rebecca added, \u201cI\u00a0came home yesterday and found Anna packing her things. She didn\u2019t even tell me\u00a0where she was going to\u00a0live, she preferred to\u00a0keep it\u00a0a\u00a0secret. Then she said\u00a0I was being a\u00a0bad and mean person because that would increase the amount they are paying for her, and that four months away from her job and boyfriend was cruel. I\u2019m kind of\u00a0torn. We\u00a0had a\u00a0deal and\u00a0I think it\u00a0was fair.\u201d\n\n
