Piano prodigy Ryan Wang, who had impressed audiences on “The Ellen Show” and at Carnegie Hall, gave a special private concert for 101-year-old Dorothy Landry.

This concert was organized by CBC Music because Dorothy, a longtime fan of Ryan since he was three, has hearing problems and couldn’t fully enjoy his public performances. Ryan, aged 5, played “Variations on an Inner Mongolian Folk Song” just for her.

Dorothy sat in her wheelchair in a small room, with Ryan beside her. Ryan, holding a big teddy bear, was bouncing with excitement. He told “Grandma Dorothy” how special it was to play for her, making her smile brightly, showing how much the performance meant to her.

Dorothy showed her gratitude by calling Ryan a “very special little person” and expressing excitement for his future performances. She asked him to visit her again after his trip to China and thanked him many times. This special musical connection highlights the bond between generations and the universal language of music.
