Many of us have dreamt of our perfect day, surrounded by loved ones, champagne flowing and a cheeky dance at the reception after exchanging your vows – yet, we never often think of the awkward encounters that may arise on the big day itself.

We’re not sure if you’re up to date with wedding etiquette or not, but wearing white is usually a big no-go, no matter whether those wearing the crystal shade are family members or close friends.

A bride, aged 26 and her groom, aged 28, exchanged their vows earlier this month.

However, despite the wonderful ceremony, a devastated bride announced that the reception didn’t unfold as intended and wedding etiquette was most certainly broken.
Taking to Reddit to share their disappointment, the groom explained that his newlywed wife was quite adamant about adhering to a strict dress code of no white attire.
He went on to explain that during the reception, he found his wife in tears inside the bathroom.
“The reception was going well until I noticed my wife walking over to the bathroom with her face held in her hands,” the groom explained.
“Obviously, I could tell my wife was upset as we’ve been together for three years now and I can tell when she’s upset.
“Once I got to the bathroom I knocked on the door and informed my wife that it was me at the door. After a few minutes, I heard the door unlock and open.
“When I got in a saw my wife sitting on the floor with mascara running down her cheeks.”
After confronting her she explained it was because their nephew – his sister’s son – was wearing ‘white jeans and a white bow tie’.
He continued the story by recalling: “I told her she was overreacting but in a much nicer way and I said that she should go enjoy the reception and forget about the whole thing,”
“She eventually texted her sister to come to the bathroom and fix her makeup so she could go back out and have a good night.”
Subsequently, he observed his wife’s conversations throughout the night and saw that she was talking to his sister.
However, he was unaware that the bride had actually requested that she and her son leave unless she had brought a change of clothes for the child.
“My wife felt she was completely in the right for what she asked, and I told her that if she kicks my family out, then I will happily leave too,” he said on Reddit.
After the reception took place the wife actually stayed at her mother’s place and the two ‘haven’t spoken’ since.
People took to the comments to share their opinion on the situation.
One person said: “It’s a six-year-old in a bowtie.
“Did she think people would confuse him for the bride?”
Someone else quips: “Maybe people would have confused him for the bride, given she’s acting six years old over the situation.”
A third adds: “If the sister was the one wearing a white dress, or maybe a teenage niece, I might agree with you. But it’s a six-year-old boy in white jeans and a bowtie.”
A fourth person, however, defends the bride by commenting: “I think the bride is upset with the parents [for] using their child to blatantly flout the rules.”
Source: igvofficia

Many of us have dreamt of our perfect day, surrounded by loved ones, champagne flowing and a cheeky dance at the reception after exchanging your vows – yet, we never often think of the awkward encounters that may arise on the big day itself.
