Redferns\n\nHe was born in Coundon, UK, in November, 1937, but his family moved to Australia when he was just 3-years-old.\n
Ifield showed love for music from very early age. At 13 years old, he got a guitar from his grandmother and started writing songs.\n
In 1959, he made the decision to move back to the UK, where he turned into a true sensation, with four of his hits topping the charts.\n
In 1986 he was diagnosed with pneumonia and doctors had a part of his lung removed, which affected his vocals cords and his singing career.\n
Ifield was inducted to the Aria Music Awards\u2019 Hall of Fame, and was presented with a Medal of the Order of Australia for his \u201cservice to the arts as an entertainer\u201d in 2009.\n
Tributes came pouring in, with radio host Luke Davies writing, \u201cVery Sad to hear that Frank Ifield has passed away. He was instrumental in the music scene during the 1960\u2019s. Although a bit before my time, I used to love playing this song on the radio\u2026 Sleep Tight Frank, I Remember You.\u201d\n
