Chef\u00a0Gordon Ramsay\u00a0was involved in a scary biking accident that left him severely bruised.\n

Over Father\u2019s Day weekend, the famous restaurateur and television presenter took to social media to warn his fans\u00a0of the importance of wearing a helmet after his accident. The\u00a0Hell\u2019s Kitchen\u00a0chef went on to describe the terrifying ordeal which resulted in him needing medical treatment, revealing \u201che was lucky to be there.\u201d\n

\u201cWith #FathersDay tomorrow I have very important message for all the dads out there\u2026WEAR A HELMET!\u201d Ramsay captioned the post which showed his enormous bruise.\u00d7\n

\u201cThis week I had a really bad accident while riding my bike in Connecticut. I\u2019m doing ok and did not break any bones or suffer any major injuries but I am a bit bruised up looking like a purple potato,\u201d he continued.\n
\u201cI\u2019m thankful for all the doctors, nurses and staff at Lawerence + Memorial Hospital in New London who looked after me and checked me out, but most thankful for my helmet that saved my life. Have a great Father\u2019s Day and be safe Gx.\u201d\n
In the video he posted, Ramsay said, \u201cNow, from those incredible surgeons, doctors, and nurses in the hospital who looked after me this week \u2014 they were amazing. But honestly, you\u2019ve got to wear a helmet. I don\u2019t care how short the journey is. I don\u2019t care the fact that these helmets cost money, they\u2019re crucial. Even with the kids, on a short journey, they\u2019ve got to wear a helmet.\n
