Miriam Margolyes, a beloved Harry Potter actor, has stated that she does not have much longer to live.

Margolyes, 83, has had an extraordinarily successful career, playing in a variety of family-friendly films such as Babe and Flushed Away, as well as more prominent parts in Baz Luhrmann’s award-winning Romeo and Juliet and in the stage.

In a recent interview, the beloved actress shared a heartbreaking update on her health and the internet has been left feeling devastated.

“She is an incredible legend. “A wonderful person who will be greatly missed,” one fan comments.

""

Another writes, “She’s great. She has been a champion for justice and inclusivity, and we will be losing another great one, but her legacy is one of incredible warmth and knowledge. “I’ll miss her.”

“There must be something in the Wizarding World to save this one!” another says.

Last year, Margolyes stated that she had underwent heart surgery.

In an interview on the Table Manners podcast with Jessie and Lennie Ware, she detailed the operation in further detail: “I’ve got a cow’s heart now,” she said. “Well, not the entire heart. I got my aortic valve replaced with a cow’s aortic valve.

“I don’t know how common it is. I’d never heard of that operation. But it saves you from having open heart surgery, which would be infinitely more invasive.”

Mayo Clinic explains that, a transcatheter aortic valve replacement (TAVR) is a procedure ‘to replace an aortic valve that is narrowed and doesn’t open fully.’

Despite her recent health issues, the Call The Midwife star insists she will continue to work.

""

She told the Radio Times: “I’m scared that I won’t have enough money for caretakers when I ultimately become paralyzed or whatever it is that will happen to me. I’m saving money so I can pay someone to look after me and my partner.”

Despite her recent heart surgery and spinal condition, Margolyes will perform for the first time in 12 years at the world’s largest performing arts festival, the Edinburgh Fringe Festival, where she will ‘bring to life the most colorful and iconic characters’ from Charles Dickens’ novels.

However, in a recent interview with The Telegraph, she discussed the impact her medical difficulties are having on her acting career.

Margolyes responded: “I yearn to play roles that don’t confine me to wheelchairs, but I’m just not strong enough.” She described her health problems as ‘limited and disheartening.’

The actress revealed that she feels like her life is coming to an end.
