Snoop Dogg is perhaps one of the most popular American rappers and television personalities. The musician has made his name worldwide and is a household name.\n\n\n

However, many might not know about his personal life. Beneath his calm exterior, he has seen a lot of pain. But he still finds the joys in life and is quick to celebrate them.\n

\n\"\"Snoop Dogg was born Calvin Cordozar Broadus Jr. on October 20, 1971. He married Shante Broadus in 1997. The couple has three children: Corde, Cordell, and Cori. Snoop has also fathered Julian, his son from another relationship.\n

His children are all grown up, and Snoop himself, apart from being a dad, is also a proud grandfather. He lost of a grandchild and still keeps their memory alive. In 2007, Snoop appeared in a reality show titled\u00a0\u201cSnoop Dogg\u2019s Father Hood,\u201d\u00a0to show his lesser known side as a family man.\n

When he was promoting the show, he said in an interview\u00a0\u201cI got kids, and I always play my music for them. I like to hear what they like. They think I\u2019m old, but I think I\u2019m young.\u201d\n

For him fatherhood has been a journey, he said,\u00a0\u201cNinety percent of rappers grew up without fathers, but you see ninety percent of those rappers becoming fathers to their kids. We don\u2019t ever get commended for that. We become real men when we get to this level we\u2019re at right now.\u201d\n

In 2015 he gave a interview where he gave himself a humble rating as a father of\u00a0\u201cabout a 7-plus\u201d\u00a0as a father, and as for his style as a grandfather he said he is a\u00a0\u201cgullible, get-away-with-everything kind of grandpa.\u201d\n

He is incredibly sweet when he talks about his role of being a grandfather, he shared,\u00a0\u201cIt\u2019s just a spark of joy just to look in his eyes and to be able to hold him. I thank my oldest son for making me a grandfather.\u201d\n

Earlier this year, he said in an interview for\u00a0\u201cThe Jennifer Hudson Show,\u201d\u00a0saying how his grandchildren call him\u00a0\u201cPapa Snoop,\u201d a name his eldest grandson called him first.\n

Snoop shared,\u00a0\u201c[My grandkids are] different ages, ranges, [and] sizes and I love them all the same way. Actually, my oldest [grandson\u2019s] birthday is today so I\u2019m on my way to his birthday party when I leave here.\u201d\n

He recalled that his eldest grandchild actually called him \u2018Papa Noop\u2019 because he had a hard time pronouncing \u2018Snoop\u2019 at first.\n

In September 2019, the family faced a huge loss when Snoop\u2019s grandson Kai Love passed away when he was only 10 days old. At the time, Snoop shared a heartbreaking message that read to signal his feelings about the loss,\u00a0\u201cIf you\u2019re facing something you don\u2019t understand: Choose to trust God. Remember all He has done for you. His ways are higher than ours. He is always good.\u201d\n

Kai parents were Snoop\u2019s son Corde Broadus, and his wife, Soraya Love. Like Grandpa Snoop, they were also shattered at the loss of their child. On what would have been their late son\u2019s first birthday, the mom of the late child shared an emotional message to Instagram. It read,\n

\u201cHappy heavenly birthday to my 1st son Kai Love who passed away 9-15-2019,\u201d\u00a0she wrote in her post, it went on to say,\u00a0\u201c\u2026I know God used this painful time in our families life, knowing I will use that to help those in need of that knowledge of GOD and SELF [sic].\u201d\n

She shared how her loss had propelled her to immerse herself in a life of wellness, spirituality, and community support.\n

She wrote in her post,\u00a0\u201cThe pain of losing a child you created in YOUR body is very traumatic feeling that never goes away\u2026since that moment God has guided my steps and shown me a deeper soul purpose\u2026to get close to God, improve your heart health through lifestyle choices, relationship standards, family dynamic, generational curse breaking; food choices, self-love, serving those in need of help mentally, physically, spiritually, emotionally [sic].\u201d\n

The death inspired the parents to start the\u00a0\u201cKai Heart Foundation,\u201d\u00a0an organization which focuses on spreading love and healing through the power of community.\n

Soraya shared in a post in March 2024,\u00a0\u201cwe would love to partner with any Organizations that help heal -educate -assist humans with LOVE\u00a0\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udffdthis is our soul purpose and want to keep giving back to community in any way we can \u2665\ufe0f[sic].\u201d\n

In another post she explained what the organization does,\u00a0\u201cStarted Kai Heart Foundation in 2019 after my son Kai passed away at 10 days from heart defect\u2026He inspired me to help other mothers, men, women; children in the world through acts of LOVE + healthy lifestyle [sic].\u201d\n

Snoop oldest grandchild is Zion Kalvin Broadus who was born in January 2015. He was born to Snoop\u2019s son Corde Broadus and his partner at the time, Jessica Kyzer. Snoop was beyond thrilled at the birth, sharing a video with the caption,\u00a0\u201cProud grandad. My son spank n grandson Zion !!\ud83c\udf7c\ud83d\ude4f\ud83c\udf1f\u2728Jah bless.\u201d\n

In 2018, Corde and his wife Soraya Love welcomed their daughter Elleven Love Broadus. In 2023, the couple celebrated their daughters fifth birthday with mom posting on Instagram saying,\u00a0\u201cHAPPY 5th BORN DAY TO MY 1st BORN E11EVEN\ud83e\udd29\u263a\ufe0f\ud83d\ude0dthis old soul\/young Queen taught me how to be a mom when I didn\u2019t even know how to change a diaper [sic]\u201d\n
