This was a huge blow since the two were extremely close and nurtured a loving mother-daughter relationship.\n</p><p>\u201dShe had a wonderful, full, healthy life and was absolutely ready to go. The cancer might think it won the battle but we\u2019re giving God all the credit on selecting the time for her to go home to Him,\u201d the country star wrote on social media.\n</p><p><iframe id='\"instagram-embed-0\"' class='\"instagram-media' instagram-media-rendered src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/www.instagram.com%5C/p%5C/B9u5_2dFPBF%5C/embed%5C/captioned%5C/?cr=1&amp;v=14&amp;wp=540&amp;rd=https%3A%2F%2Fboreddaddy.com&amp;rp=%2Freba-mcentire-remembers-the-day-she-lost-her-band-in-a-horrific-plane-crash-32-years-ago%2F#%7B%22ci%22%3A0%2C%22os%22%3A1788.5%2C%22ls%22%3A1301.800000000745%2C%22le%22%3A1726.8999999985099%7D%5C%22" height='\"1388\"' frameborder='\"0\"' scrolling='\"no\"' allowfullscreen='\"allowfullscreen\"' data-instgrm-payload-id='\"instagram-media-payload-0\"' data-mce-fragment='\"1\"'>\n<p>Back in the day, when she was young, Jacqueline wished to become a singer herself, but since her dream didn\u2019t turn into a reality, she taught her daughter how to sing.\n</p><p>\u201cShe left knowing how much she is loved and we all know how much she loved us.\u00a0We\u2019re all going to miss her but we have so many wonderful memories,\u201d Reba said.\n</p><p>Sadly, this wasn\u2019t the first time that Reba experienced loss and sorrow. 32 years ago, on March 16, seven members of her band, along with her manager, lost their lives in a horrific airplane crash.\n</p><p>The band was having a concert in San Diego on that day in 1991, and were flying to Fort Wayne, Ind., to perform their next concert on the tour.\n</p><p>Reba and her then-husband were supposed to fly with another plane but they decided to stay in San Diego for the night. The band\u2019s airplane crushed just ten miles after it took off.\n</p><p><img decoding='\"async\"' src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/boreddaddy.com%5C/wp-content%5C/uploads%5C/2023%5C/06%5C/crash.jpg?ezimgfmt=rs:664x498%5C/rscb1%5C/ng:webp%5C/ngcb1%5C%22" alt='\"\"' title='\"\"'>\n</p><p>Although it\u2019s been over three decades since the tragic crash, Reba never misses a chance to pay tribute to the late members of her band.\n</p><p>Back in 2012, Reba opened up about the tragedy during an interview with Oprah. \u201cThe tip of the wing of the airplane hit a rock on the side of Otay Mountain, and it killed everyone on the plane,\u201d she said.\n</p><p>\u201cWhen we were notified, Narvel (Reba\u2019s manager) went and met with our pilot, and he told us what had happened.\n</p><p>And Narvel came back to the hotel room where I was\u00a0\u2014 it was two or three o\u2019clock in the morning\u00a0\u2014 and he said one of the planes had crashed, and I said,\n</p><p>\u2018Are they OK?\u2019 He said, \u2018I don\u2019t think so.\u2019 I said, \u2018But you\u2019re not sure?\u2019 He said, \u2018I don\u2019t think so.\u2019\u201d\n</p><h2 class='\"wp-block-heading\"'>As she recalled the tragic day, Reba couldn\u2019t contain tears from running down her face.\n</h2><p>\u201cNarvel was going room to room with a phone and calling \u2026\u201d she began, pausing as tears came to her eyes.\n</p><p>\u201cI\u2019m sorry\u00a0\u2014 it\u2019s been 20 years, but it\u2019s just like\u00a0\u2014 I don\u2019t guess it ever quits hurting,\u201d she said. \u201cBut I can see that room.
