Historically, when a member of the Royal Family divorces, they lose \u201cThe\u201d in their formal title and instead receive what\u2019s called a Courtesy Title. This change was evident when Princess Diana divorced King Charles; her title shifted from \u201cDiana, The Princess of Wales\u201d to \u201cDiana, Princess of Wales.\u201d\n

While the omission of \u201cThe\u201d from Meghan\u2019s Instagram title could simply be an oversight by her team, it hasn\u2019t stopped rumors from spreading online.
