While alerts have ended, strong and unusual currents may continue. Be careful near the water and use caution,\u201d the NWS announced on X.\n</p><p><iframe loading='\"lazy\"' title='\"7.6' magnitude earthquake detected in caribbean width='\"500\"' height='\"281\"' src="%5C%22https:%5C/%5C/www.youtube.com%5C/embed%5C/u7-zO3eO_So?feature=oembed%5C%22" frameborder='\"0\"' allow='\"accelerometer;' autoplay clipboard-write encrypted-media gyroscope picture-in-picture web-share referrerpolicy='\"strict-origin-when-cross-origin\"' allowfullscreen>\n<p>According to a statement from the USGS, the earthquake struck at 6:23 p.m. local time, with its epicenter located approximately 20 miles north of Honduras and 130 miles southwest of the Cayman Islands.\n</p><p>In response, the Cayman Islands Hazard Management Agency issued an urgent warning: \u201cThe Cayman Islands is under a Tsunami threat.
